Every piece starts with a conversation.

Custom work is the heart of what we do at Paper Mill Studio. Whether you are designing a full wedding suite, a single keepsake piece, or something for a client or colleague that actually means something — we work with you from the very first idea to the moment it leaves our hands.

Here is how the process works.

Step 1: Tell Us What You Are Imagining

Reach out by email or stop by the studio. You do not need to have it all figured out. Most of our best work starts with a vague idea and a folder of inspiration. We will help you pull the threads together.

Step 2: Consultation

We sit down with you — in person or by phone — and talk through what you want to create. We ask questions. We listen. We look at what you have brought us. By the end of the consultation, we will have a direction and a rough sense of scope.

Step 3: Design and Proofing

We develop initial concepts and present them to you as proofs. Most projects go through two to five rounds of proofing. We do not rush this part. The proof is where almost-right becomes exactly-right.

Step 4: Production

Once you approve the final proof, we go to print. We work with paper stocks and printing methods that we have spent 45 years learning to trust. We hand-check every piece before it is packaged.

Step 5: Pickup or Delivery

Your order can be picked up at the studio or shipped anywhere in the country. We package everything as carefully as we made it.

How Long Does It Take?

Every custom order is different. A simple piece might take two to three weeks. A full wedding suite with multiple components typically takes six to twelve weeks. We will give you a realistic timeline at your consultation and do everything we can to honor it.

Have a hard deadline? Tell us early. We will tell you honestly whether we can meet it.
